The word linear occurs in so many places in mathematics, and in allied sciences.

Linear equations are taught throughout middle school algebra courses. Linear graphs dominate the landscape when graphic functions are first introduced, in high school. Linear algebra forms the basis of any introductory quantum mechanics course.

This book aims to provide a thorough initial look at the world of linear equation graphs, and aims to provide an easy visual equivalent of every property of a line.

The slope is undoubtedly the most useful property of a line graph, from a real world perspective, given its direct connection to the world of differential calculus. However, many other properties of a line are also of interest, and they are all explained and covered in this book, with a large number of solved examples in each case.

The best way to use this book is to go through the first few chapters as if they are solved examples, and to try to understand how every calculation is made, and to absorb the underlying logic.

After that, you can move on to subsequent chapters, and try to carry out the calculations by yourself, while you look at the graph of the line in each case. You will understand that, if you can write down the equation of the line by observation of the graph, you can then find out everything (slope, etc), from the equation alone.
